Save our Subic Wrecks! aims to further public knowledge and appreciation of Subic Bay’s marine heritage working towards three principal objectives;

Surveying, documenting and encouraging the preservation of shipwrecks in Subic Bay as a resource of historical and environmental value to the public in the Philippines,

Preserving the unique marine ecosystems and environment that flourish on the wreck sites in Subic Bay,

Undertaking public education projects and raising political awareness for the need to proactively enforce conservation and marine legislation to protect these sites for future generations and the benefit of sustained tourism in the Philippines.

History of the Organisation

Save Our Subic Wrecks was established by a dedicated group of Philippines underwater explorers and historians. They are actively involved in wreck exploration, discovery and research on the many local shipwrecks and preserving those sites for future generations.  Recognizing the historical and environmental importance of the wrecks, the group acknowledged their duty to protect the legacy they represented and are campaigning for the effective protection of these wrecks from illegal salvage operations, dynamite fishing and other damaging practices.
